Located in the northern section of Kentucky, Bethlehem is an unincorporated rural community situated in Henry County. The community was formerly known as Mobley Stand and currently has a population of 251 people. The county in which Bethlehem is situated was carved out of a portion of Shelby County in 1798. The county was approved for establishment on December 14th.

Despite Bethlehem’s small size, it has a big reputation in Kentucky. The community is best known for its annual Living Nativity which takes place from December 22nd to the 25th. The event is a collaboration between three churches located in the community and attracts residents from various parts of the state. Bethlehem’s post office is very well known around the state and also around the world. The post office is famous for its special postmark during the Christmas season. The post office and its popularity both in and outside of the state have drawn significant attention, receiving national television coverage as well as features in many news periodicals.

Bethlehem has varying weather depending on the season. During the months of winter, the community experiences daytime highs that average in the mid to low-40s. Snow is also very common in the area. Bethlehem has an average snowfall of over 4 inches in the month of January.
