Prospect is a northern Kentucky city that is located on the Ohio River which serves as a border between the states of Kentucky and Indiana. The city is located in both Jefferson and Oldham counties and has a population of about 4,600 people according to the 2000 United States Census. Prospect is considered one of the wealthiest communities in Kentucky. Farmers originally settled the area of Prospect, which was known as Sand Hill, in the late 18th century. The city was named after the Prospect railroad station located in the city. Prospect was incorporated as a city in 1974.

Located within Prospect are numerous activities and sights that will be of interest to both residents and visitors. The city boasts of four city parks that provide individuals with opportunities to hike, picnic and gather for city concerts. Also within Prospect are three beautiful golf courses, which are the Hunting Creek Golf Course, the Nevel Meade Golf Course, and the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. Prospect offers many dining and shopping options to individuals as well. Also, due to the city’s short distance from nearby Louisville, residents and visitors may take a short drive and be in the heart of the city which offers many fun and exciting adventures.

Weather in Prospect can vary drastically depending on the time of year. During the months of summer, the area has temperatures that tend to remain in the mid to upper-80s. The days are often warm and humid, and at night temperatures will dip into the mid-60s. Residents should invest in cooling systems that are capable of keeping their homes at comfortable temperatures. Residents will also want to invest in efficient heating systems for when the colder months of the year are present. Daytime temperatures during the months of winter will not often climb into the 50s, so residents should be prepared with an efficient heating system.
