Elk Creek is a community located in Spencer County, Kentucky with a population of about 1,500 people. Situated at the intersection of Taylorsville Road and Shelbyville Road, Elk Creek has multiple stores and also a church. Spencer County has a population of a little over 17,000 people. The county was formed in January 1824 and is named after Captain Spier Spencer.
