Lawrenceburg is located in the northern portion of Kentucky and serves as the county seat of Anderson County. The city is part of the Frankfort, Kentucky Micropolitan Statistical Area. Lawrenceburg has a population of 10,505 people according to the 2010 census. The city was settled in the 1780s by a German immigrant named Jacob Kaufman. In 1817, the city was incorporated as Lawrence and renamed Lawrenceburg in honor of James Lawrence, a naval officer, in 1827.

Lawrenceburg has many exciting things to offer to both residents and visitors. The city has a beautiful downtown area that offers both dining and shopping opportunities. The city also offers many community events such as the annual Lawrenceburg Christmas Parade which features many beautiful floats. Another exciting event which takes place in the area is the Art Trail. This weekend event is sponsored by the Anderson County Arts Council and is held to celebrate the different art studios in both Anderson and Mercer Counties.  

Weather in Lawrenceburg varies greatly each season. The area is characterized by humid and warm summers and cool winters. Temperatures during the months of winter in the city range from the mid to low-40s and often dip well below freezing at night. Snow is very common during the colder months of the year. Residents will find it necessary to invest in heating systems that are capable of withstanding the cooler temperatures that visit the area during the cooler months of the year.

Summer in Lawrenceburg is often warm and humid.  Temperatures vary from the mid to upper-80s on average in the daytime during the summer. Also, rain is very common this time of year, receiving almost as much rain on average as the spring.
