Mount Eden is a community located in the northern section of Kentucky. The community has a population of about 1,800 people. There are 39 people per square mile in Mount Eden. The community is situated in Spencer County. The population of Spencer County is about 17,000 according to the 2010 United States Census. The county was formed in 1824 and named in honor of  Spier Spencer, a military captain who died in the Battle of Tippecanoe.

There are many things to see and do in the area surrounding Mount Eden. The community is located about 7 miles from Taylorsville State Park. The park offers visitors many exciting activities such as biking, bird watching, boating, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and much more. The community is also located not far from Frankfort, Kentucky. Frankfort has many exciting opportunities to offer visitors. Individuals will enjoy visiting the city’s many parks, museums, and shopping centers.

Mount Eden experiences winters that are characterized by cool temperatures and snow. The months of December, January, and February have daytime temperatures that average in the lower to mid-40s. Thermostat readings at night during these months often dip well below freezing. January and February receive the most amount of snowfall during winter. January has an average snowfall of almost 5 inches and February has an average snowfall of 4 inches. Residents will find it wise to invest in a heat pump or furnace to keep indoor temperatures at comfortable levels. During the months of winter, an efficient heating system may literally be a lifesaver.

Temperatures during the months of June, July, and August tend to vary from the mid to upper-80s. However, record temperatures during these months have reached well into the 100s. Residents will want to invest in a cooling system that is capable of withstanding plenty of use. Also, residents should have these systems inspected by an HVAC technician to ensure they are operating at their highest levels of efficiency.
